This CD includes two books:
- First history, prepared 1886
- 1913 edition, prepared by the county historical association that was formed in 1907
 
Cass County organization became effective April 13, 1829.  It is named for Gen. Lewis Cass, Governor of
 Michigan Territory through 1831. Cass was U.S. Secretary of State just prior to the outbreak of the Civil War.
 
Cass County is divided into 14 Civil Townships: Adams, Bethlehem, Boone, Clay, Clinton, Deer Creek,
 Eel, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Miami, Noble, Tipton and Washington. 
 
Logansport became the County Seat by the Legislative Act of December 18, 1828
