Boy Scout No Words Signaller  Proficiency Award Badge Melton unbound Troop S1201 S8

DESCRIPTION:  Signaller proficiency badge, circular, unbound, without any text, this skill, as seen in the requirements below, was fairly challenging and this perhaps explains the relative rarity of this variety

-the badge appears to be a dark felt or perhaps Melton

(Melton cloth, woven in a twill form and traditionally made of wool, is a very solid cloth whose finishing processes completely conceal the twill weave pattern. It is thick, which gives it a felt-like smooth surface, and is napped and very closely sheared).

-the images for this proficiency skill appear to copy those used in the UK and other Commonwealth Boy Scouts Programs

-I have done some online research and it appears that this badge may have been used in the Netherlands, it is unique in the there isn’t any text or wording that associates the badge with the Dutch Scouting movement as was the norm in badges produced after 1935 in other jurisdictions
