Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic Georgian/Regency-era hand-blown amethyst glass wine glass rinser (also frequently referred to as a wine cooler or finger bowl), dating to circa 1820.

During formal 19th-century dining, these vessels were filled with cool water and placed on the table. The dual pulled lips on the rim were designed to rest the stems of wine glasses upside down so the bowls could be rinsed between courses.

This piece features a magnificent, deep plum/amethyst color that catches the light beautifully. It is an exceptional example of early 19th-century British glassmaking.
