Stitch a country Christmas in miniature with this vintage 1983 booklet from Burdett Publications, designed by Dale Burdett, an artist, designer and teacher. Christmas Miniatures presents 25 small counted cross stitch designs, each sized to become a Country Puffs ornament. Think lace-trimmed padded ovals and rounds for the tree, a wreath, or a gift jar lid. The designs include a rooster and hen under mistletoe, a decoy duck, an antique stove, calico teddy bear and cat, a country goose, a horse weathervane, a washboard with daisies, a spice box and several Home Sweet Home sentiments. Each chart has a clear DMC color key and stitch count. Design area is given for 11, 14, 18 and 22 count fabric. A color comparison chart covers DMC, Bates/Anchor and Coats, and the last page has Country Puffs assembly instructions. The back cover shows every design framed in a wood-grain miniature frame. A nostalgic find for collectors of vintage needlework.
Pre-owned vintage softcover booklet in very good condition for its age. The cover is bright, with light edge and corner wear and a slight crease along the left edge. A Michaels price sticker ($5.00) is on the upper right of the front cover and partly overlaps the last letters of the title. The interior pages seen in the photos are clean and legible, with no visible writing. The booklet is stapled with no visible loose pages. I have not verified that every chart is unmarked.
