Brass is a metal alloy made from copper and zinc. It may also contain small amounts of other impurities, the most important of which are tin, lead, nickel, iron and some others.
A high copper content increases the ductility of brass. Such an alloy is easy to machine and forge under pressure. This brass powder can be easily shaped even at low temperatures. Brass powder has high wear and corrosion resistance. Brass is resistant to natural and industrial atmospheres, sea air, drinking water, alkaline and neutral salt solutions.
Because of its excellent technical properties, brass powder is widely used in metallurgy, construction, engineering and other industries.
Brass powder must be stored separately from combustible materials and not together with oxidizing and acidic materials. The material must be protected from water and humidity.
When handled properly and used as intended, the product does not cause any harmful effects to health. Inhalation of dust or fumes causes respiratory irritation. If higher concentrations are inhaled or swallowed, acute flu-like symptoms may occur which subside after 24 - 48 hours.
