Teisco Burns Vintage Short Scale Bass 1960s MIJ Modified.

Provenance: Believed to be a late-1960s Japanese-made Burns-type vintage bass.

SG-28 and other guitars have been documented.

Specifications: It has five-ply laminated construction with mahogany between the layers.

Condition: The original finish was removed from the top and back.

The neck plate reads "STEEL ADJUSTABLE NECK / PAT.

965375 / MADE IN JAPAN." The measured short scale is about 762 mm (30 inches).

Weight is about 3.6 kg.

The neck is three-piece maple.

The fingerboard uses very dark, dense-looking wood.

This is notable for its age, but the wood species is unknown due to a lack of identifying records.

It has been refretted with medium-size frets, with about 70% remaining.

It has two original large single-coil pickups.

The controls include a 3-way pickup selector.
