The material EN AW-7075 is a cold-formable alloy with high strength, far exceeding that of structural steel. It is one of the strongest alloys commercially available. This material has a compact structure and is highly resistant to corrosion, making it the best choice for aircraft and ship sheet metal. EN AW-7075 has good mechanical properties and good anodizing behavior. The finer grain size improves deep drilling performance and increases the wear resistance of the tools.
With a density of just 2.81 g/cm³, it is also one of the lightest commercially produced alloys. It has high toughness and excellent fatigue resistance. The surface can be milled or brushed. The machinability is very good. It is widely used for structural parts of aircraft.
