1958 Annie Oakley Cloud Bumper Unproduced TV Script Flying A #287

Original 1958 Flying A Productions, Inc. production script for the Annie Oakley series titled “The Cloud Bumper,” Production No. 287.

Written by Robert Schaefer and Eric Freiwald, the cast page identifies this script as mimeographed May 13, 1958.

The story features Annie Oakley and Lofty Craig along with John “Bumper” Rockwell, a physically imposing but compassionate man whose face was disfigured in an earlier accident; widow Lucy Moore and her young son Danny; and several additional townspeople.

This script is particularly interesting because “The Cloud Bumper” does not appear among the standard list of aired Annie Oakley television episodes and appears to represent an unproduced or unaired project prepared by Flying A Productions.

The script retains its original textured burgundy production covers and original three-brad binding. Production No. 287 appears on the cover and throughout the interior. It contains 43 numbered script pages and concludes with scene 126 and “THE END.”

The front cover states that the script was the property of Flying A Productions, Inc. and was to be returned to the reception desk after use.

An unusual surviving piece of 1950s television production history and an interesting artifact from the later development history of the Annie Oakley series.

Condition

Good to very good vintage condition.

Original textured cardstock covers and three-brad binding remain intact. Interior pages appear very clean and well preserved with light age toning.

The covers show expected handling and storage wear. There is a small tear/loss at the lower-right corner of the rear cover near the bottom fastener, which I would definitely disclose. Otherwise, the binding looks quite solid.

Please review photographs carefully for exact condition.
