Vintage 1939 New York World's Fair Tru-Vue 3-Dimension Filmstrips - Lot of 5
Up for sale is an incredibly rare, highly collectible partial set of 5 vintage Tru-Vue 3D filmstrips documenting the historic 1939-1940 New York World's Fair ("The World of Tomorrow").
Unlike standard natural scenic travelogues, Tru-Vue sets focusing on legendary World's Fairs are among the most highly prized and heavily sought-after pieces by both 3D stereoview collectors and World's Fair memorabilia enthusiasts. Each filmstrip features 14 crisp, eye-popping black and white 3D stereoscopic images capturing the cutting-edge futuristic pavilions, exhibitions, and mid-century architecture just before the outbreak of WWII.
These rectangular film cards are designed for use with a vintage Tru-Vue handheld stereoscope viewer. Each strip comes housed in its original red-and-white or silver-and-red numbered protective paper box sleeve, showcasing beautiful art deco typography.
