A striking officially licensed Tintin wall clock, featuring the famous red-and-white chequered Moon rocket from Hergé's celebrated adventures Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon.
Measuring 35 cm in diameter, this attractive clock has a vivid red circular case, a cream-coloured dial, raised black hour numerals and contrasting black hands with pale centres. The famous Moon rocket appears at the centre, complete with its distinctive red fins, chequered body and yellow exhaust plume.
A subsidiary seconds dial is positioned at six o'clock.
The clock's design reflects Hergé's celebrated ligne claire illustration style, combining bold colours, clear outlines and carefully balanced composition.
The Tintin Moon Rocket
The red-and-white Moon rocket is one of the most recognisable designs in the history of European comic-strip art.
Created by Hergé (Georges Remi, 1907–1983), it appeared in Destination Moon, published as an album in 1953, and Explorers on the Moon, published in 1954.
These remarkable adventures anticipated the Apollo 11 Moon landing of 1969 by more than fifteen years and remain among the most celebrated stories in The Adventures of Tintin.
Illustrated Reverse
An attractive additional feature is the illustrated rear panel, depicting the famous rocket standing on the lunar surface beneath a star-filled sky.
The illustration incorporates the clock's battery compartment and wall-hanging fitting.
Original Presentation Box
Supplied with its original red presentation box, featuring an illustration of the Moon rocket ascending through space.
