Technically, our 1959 original lithograph mini posters are not the large original lithograph exhibition posters (from 1953-1954 in this case) used to advertise exhibitions and fine art sales events but not all "reproductions" "are created equal". The large original lithograph exhibition posters were printed by Mourlot, by original lithography for events that took place over many years through 1959. These original lithograph mini posters for sale in our ebay store, were also printed in Paris, in 1959, by the same renowned fine art printer Mourlot, employing the same original lithographic process to "re" produce these works in smaller format than the large original exhibition posters. So, instead of employing a cheaper photomechanical printing process, thus creating what in the art world is referred to as reproductions, the same fine art printer was employed to utilize the same strenuous semi hand made printing process they were famous for to produce again, from new stones, these original lithographs. As such, these are not reproductions as far as the art world/art lovers are concerned.
As a result, these are rare, vintage original lithographs produced together in 1959, after the large original lithograph advertising posters and were distributed as a set in a deluxe/limited edition portfolio to commemorate in the best way possible the fantastic work of Mourlot over the years on master artist original posters. They are not modern nor digital reproductions (using modern technology). They are not widely or infinitely available nor can any more be produced. As such, these are an affordable alternative to the large original lithograph exhibition posters (generally running between $1,000 and many $1,000's) for collecting and decorative purposes.
