This is the WorldaWhirl battery-powered revolving display motor. It turns hanging decorations at a calm medium speed, about 25–35 revolutions per minute, depending on how heavy the item is and how strong the battery is. It runs on a single D-cell battery (not included). Flip the battery around and it spins the other way. An on/off switch is on the body, a flexible metal hook hangs it from the top, and a bottom clip holds your item.

It is sized for lightweight displays up to 6 pounds. Overall length is about 7.5 inches, width about 1.75 inches, and the round black plastic body is about 5 inches long. It is quiet, spins slowly, and does not run hot, so it works well indoors for mobiles, ornaments, holiday pieces, small wind spinners, and similar hanging displays.

The practical fix is a small plastic sleeve or bag. The top hook is a flexible metal clip you can remove and put back on. Slip the sleeve over the motor, puncture it with only the top clip, and reattach the clip. That gives a much better seal than leaving the motor open to weather, and it is the difference between a short outdoor life and a longer one. A covered porch or eave is still better than full exposure, and bringing it in for bad weather is better still.*

If wind pushes the opposite direction of the motor, the swivel takes that load instead of grinding the drive.
