Released as part of the controversial and highly collectible "Happy Family" line, this specific set is themed around a first birthday celebration.

Product Overview:

• Brand: Mattel (2003)

• Character/Line: Happy Family Neighborhood (Grandma)

• Notable Feature: This doll utilizes a distinct, slightly broader, and more mature body mold sculpted uniquely for the grandmother character in this line, rather than the standard slender Barbie body style.

Box Contents & Accessories:

The playset contains 18 distinct pieces intended for pretend play with toddler/baby sized dolls:

• Grandma Doll: Dressed in a purple knit sweater, a geometric patterned top, purplish-gray trousers, and matching slip-on shoes. She is styled with short, streaked brown hair and wore removable reading glasses.

• Nursery/Toddler Toys: A yellow plastic rocking horse with a combable pink mane and tail, alongside a soft, pink plush "cuddly bear chair" designed to hold family toddlers like Nikki or Ryan.

• Party Favors: Cardboard gift boxes, miniature shopping bags, and a sheet of commemorative stickers to be used with the line's custom scrapbook.

Collectible Value & Market Overview:

Because the original Happy Family line—most notably the pregnant version of Barbie’s friend Midge—drew widespread public criticism and was pulled from major retail shelves like Walmart, the entire collection was short-lived. Consequently, grandparent sets have become highly sought after by collectors.
