Rawlings JAPAN Heart of the Hide HOH 12 RHT All Positions RichTan BaseBall Glove

This Rawlings Heart of the Hide All Positions glove is an Alex Rodriguez signature model featuring the distinctive FASTBACK HOLDSTER design and a classic Rich Tan color.

Alex Rodriguez is one of the most recognizable infielders in modern baseball history, and this model captures the professional-inspired style associated with his equipment. The FASTBACK HOLDSTER design adds a distinctive vintage/professional character that makes this glove appealing not only for play but also to collectors of Rawlings player models.

Heart of the Hide Leather

The Heart of the Hide (HOH) series is one of Rawlings' most respected premium glove lines, known for its substantial leather, durability, and dependable structure.

The leather offers a strong balance of firmness, flexibility, durability, and responsiveness. It has enough body to provide stability during catching while allowing the pocket and shape to gradually become personalized through use.

This model's slightly softer feel compared with an extremely stiff hardball glove can make it comfortable and easy to handle, while still retaining the substantial leather character associated with Heart of the Hide.

FASTBACK HOLDSTER Design

The FASTBACK HOLDSTER design gives this glove a distinctive profile and adds to its vintage Rawlings character.

The FASTBACK-style construction is especially appealing to players and collectors who appreciate classic Rawlings designs and professional-model gloves from earlier generations.

At 12 inches, the glove offers a versatile catching surface suitable for a variety of defensive positions. It provides more coverage than a compact infielder glove while remaining manageable for everyday fielding.

Japanese Rubber Baseball vs. Hardball

One important point for overseas buyers is that Japan has two major types of baseball gloves: hardball gloves and rubber-ball gloves.

Japanese rubber baseballs are surprisingly hard and are much firmer than many people outside Japan may expect. They are designed for serious baseball play and are not comparable to a soft training ball.

This particular glove is designed for Japanese rubber-ball baseball, but its durable construction makes it strong enough to be used for hardball baseball as well.

Many players appreciate Japanese rubber-ball gloves because they can offer a slightly softer and more user-friendly feel while still using high-quality leather and durable construction. This makes them popular with players who want a comfortable glove that remains dependable for serious play.
