The 1996 Bandai Pocket Monsters Carddass Vending 'Monsters Collection' was the very first Pokemon Carddass series, released in Japan in 1996 - the same year as the original Red and Green games - and is widely regarded as the earliest Pokemon card release. Each card has a coloured 'MONSTERS COLLECTION' front (red or green) and the back carries the Pokedex data and the Green/Red version appearance rate chart with 'BANDAI 1996 MADE IN JAPAN'. Prism (holofoil) cards were the scarce pulls.
