Description
1963 Littlest Hobo Suspicions St Moritz Working TV Script Canamac
Vintage December 30, 1963 working television script for the original 1963–1965 series THE LITTLEST HOBO.
The script is titled “SUSPICIONS OF ST. MORITZ” and is credited to Jerome B. Thomas for the teleplay, with story by Porter Jared and Rodney Larson. The cover and title page identify the script as property of Canamac Pictures, Ltd., one of the production companies associated with the original series.
Research indicates that “Suspicions of St. Moritz” appears to represent an early version of the storyline ultimately produced as the episode “High Hazard.” The surviving description of “High Hazard” centers on a ski-lodge storyline involving a wife concerned about her husband's devotion to skiing and a former romantic interest, closely corresponding with the storyline represented in this script. Porter Jared and Rodney Larson are also associated with the aired episode, although the surviving writing credits differ from those found on this earlier December 1963 version.
Especially interesting are the numerous handwritten working marks and revisions found throughout this copy. These include handwritten notes on the title page, editing/cut marks within the script, handwritten scene notation, and a revision page designated R-34A. The revision material also specifically notes “Page 35 OMITTED.”
The script retains its original red/maroon cardstock covers and brass fasteners.
This piece comes from the Clarke Paylow / Paylow Productions archive, acquired from the family of Clarke Paylow. No claim is made that this particular script was personally used or annotated by Paylow.
An unusual surviving piece of early 1960s television production and development history, particularly interesting because it preserves an apparent earlier title and writing stage of a story subsequently associated with THE LITTLEST HOBO episode “High Hazard.”
