Antique Pre-NOMA GloLite Christmas Tree – 15" – Original Translucent Light Rods & Metal Tree –

Offered is an antique original pre-NOMA GloLite Christmas tree, approximately 15 inches tall, featuring the distinctive translucent light rods and unusual metal tree construction characteristics of these early illuminated Christmas trees.

This is not a reproduction or a modern GloLite-style tree. The tree itself is an original early GloLite example.

I was able to identify this as a pre-NOMA GloLite by comparing the construction with an original example. The original configuration uses a plaster base with the metal tree sitting on top of it, with a single long light positioned inside the center of the tree. That single internal light illuminates the translucent rods throughout the entire tree.

The portion being offered here includes the original metal tree framework and translucent light rods.

The metal framework extends upward through the center of the tree in a tapered/conical form, becoming progressively narrower toward the top.

The framework contains openings that hold the individual rods in position.

The translucent rods are specially positioned so that they extend upward from the metal framework and create the characteristic illuminated appearance when the tree is lit from within.

The lower metal portion has its original green painted finish, while portions of the upper metal framework remain unpainted/natural metal.

The bottom section is also perforated with numerous small openings, which are part of the original construction.

This is an antique item and should be expected to show age, wear, and imperfections consistent with its age.

One of the translucent rods is broken, as shown in the photographs. The remaining rods are present.

There is also age-related wear to the metal and original painted finish, including areas of discoloration and deterioration.

There is no manufacturer's label or identifying mark present on the tree, which is not unusual for an item of this age.

The tree has not been electrically tested because the original plaster base and internal lighting assembly are not included.

Please examine all photographs carefully. The photographs are an important part of the description and show the actual antique tree you will receive.

This is an especially interesting piece for a collector of early Christmas antiques, GloLite Christmas trees, pre-NOMA holiday lighting, antique illuminated decorations, or early 20th-century Christmas collectibles.

The tree's original metal framework and translucent rods remain together, making this a wonderful candidate for display, preservation, or restoration by a knowledgeable collector.

Simply stated I feel that all you need is a light source to immediately enjoy this item.
