This album is an expanded version of the well-received Eternal Grooves [The Beatles / Rubber Soul Sessions (EGDR-0210)], compiling outtakes and session recordings from the same period.
In particular, the entire album features a stereo version with unbiased stereo positioning, which is different from the official 2009 stereo mix and is something fans have been longing for.
The 1987 stereo mix used in the 2009 complete catalog remastering had many unnatural parts when listened to with modern ears, and it's true that some fans were disappointed.
The biggest problem is the lead vocals being positioned too far to the right.
This tendency is particularly evident in songs that begin with vocals.
For a song like [Girl], fans would probably want John's voice, which starts with ♪Is There Anybody Going to Listen, to be prominently and confidently in the center of the stage.
This time, all tracks from [Rubber Soul] are included here in a natural-sounding stereo mix.
You'll surely be satisfied with the excellent sound quality. Two singles from the same period are also included as bonus tracks.
In 1965, after a successful massive stadium tour including Shea Stadium, the Beatles holed up in Abbey Road Studios and, utilizing new recording techniques, completed their masterpiece, "Rubber Soul." They faced the challenge of finishing the album at the last minute, with no new songs in their repertoire.
However, the environment that allowed them to concentrate solely on studio work for about a month awakened their creative power. Masterpiece after masterpiece was born.
Having realized the value of being able to immerse themselves in the recording process, the Beatles subsequently shifted their interest from live performances to studio work.
This album thoroughly covers all tracks from the landmark album [Rubber Soul] in its authentic stereo mix, as well as alternative versions, alternative mixes, outtakes, and related songs.
