Ball Joint Installation Instructions：

Pre-Installation Preparation

• Tools: Torque wrench, socket set, tie rod separator/pickle fork, jack, safety stands, rust inhibitor, thread locker (optional), wire brush, pliers, wheel chocks
• Vehicle: Park on level ground, chock wheels, engage parking brake. Disconnect negative battery terminal for EPS models (per manual).?
• Part Check: Match new tie rod end (inner/outer as needed) to vehicle. Ensure ball joint rotates freely, boot is intact, and hardware is complete.

Old Part Removal

• Loosen wheel bolts, lift vehicle with jack, secure with safety stands.
• Remove wheel, extract cotter pin from ball joint nut, then remove the nut.?
• Separate tie rod end from steering knuckle with separator (avoid excess impact).?
• Mark lock nut position on inner tie rod, then loosen lock nut (hold inner tie rod to prevent rotation) and unscrew old tie rod end.?
• Clean inner tie rod connection surface.

New Part Installation Steps

• Clean steering knuckle hole and inner tie rod threads; apply rust inhibitor to knuckle surface.
• Apply thread locker (optional) to inner tie rod, screw on new tie rod end aligned with marked position.?
• Hand-tighten lock nut, seat ball joint in steering knuckle, hand-tighten ball joint nut.?
• Lower wheel to ground (light load), torque ball joint nut (35-55N·m, follow manual) and install new cotter pin.?
• Torque lock nut (40-60N·m, follow manual) while holding inner tie rod.?
• Check: Smooth ball joint rotation, undamaged boot, no component interference.

Post-Installation Inspection

• Reinstall wheel, torque bolts (80-120N·m, follow manual).
• Reconnect battery (if disconnected), start vehicle, test full steering lock (≤10s) for smooth operation and no noise.?
• Mandatory Four-Wheel Alignment to calibrate toe/camber angles.?
• Test drive (20-30km/h then 60-80km/h) for no pulling/vibration; stop if issues arise.

Safety Precautions

• Always use safety stands (never rely on jack).
• Use proper tools to avoid component damage.?
• Torque all fasteners to specs (over/under-tightening is dangerous).?
• Never reuse cotter pins; replace damaged boots immediately.?
• Avoid long/high-speed driving before alignment.
