Here is a special headress that I think is Prarie Indian made~ Maybe Otoe or Osage from Oklahoma~the shape is maintained by a band of hard hide inside~The silver colored cloth is held in place by 2 rows of square brass colored tacks on the top and bottom ~There is a third band of such tacks that hold a band of red cloth at the center of the hat~ 4 sections of clear beads are sewn on plus red and silver ribbons for decorations~ a black silky cloth covers the top to hide the top of the wearer's head~ It could be circa 1940s, 50s or earlier~The place of purchase was unusual too : I found it at an antique show in the Delta Center in Delta British Columbia, Canada, which is south of Vancouver, BC, in 1983. This is the most unusual headress I have ever found ~ it is 4.5 inches high by 6 to 7 inches in diameter.
