Fourteen signed letters from Catherine Cookson, all sent to my mother between 1973 and 1990 including a hand written card from her - see photo. I can confirm these are certainly both original and authentic, as my mother used to write to a variety of authors and film stars. She had cherished them all as she had bought every book from this author.
In many of these letters she writes about her health and her forthcoming books and her frank thoughts on a poor TV dramatization of her work.
In addition, there are four other letters also on headed notepaper - individually dated 1989, 1992 and 1996, from her husband Tom and two staff members Sarah Sables and Ann Marshall in latter years, as Mrs Cookson was too ill to write herself. On one occasion my parents were lucky enough to visit her at her home too after she moved south.
They will be sent securely. They are in pretty good condition. I am not splitting them up, it would be a shame as they form an interesting chronological story.
