Beautiful vintage Victorian Revival pedestal side table attributed to the Victorian Furniture Company of Montgomery, Alabama, identified through its original Mahogany Association, Inc. certification label No. 413.
Dating approximately to the 1930s–1940s, this elegant table combines a sculptural genuine mahogany pedestal base with a substantial removable marble top marked “Made in Italy.”
Original Identification
The underside retains its original Mahogany Association, Inc. No. 413 label, certifying:
“Solid Genuine Mahogany — All Exposed Parts Guaranteed.”
Mahogany Association contract/label No. 413 is associated with the Victorian Furniture Company of Montgomery, Alabama. The underside is additionally marked “Victorian.”
Italian Marble Top
The substantial round marble top measures approximately 13” in diameter and is removable from the mahogany base.
Importantly, the marble itself is marked “Made in Italy,” documenting its Italian origin.
The stone displays attractive natural white, cream and soft gray coloration with distinctive veining and a beautifully molded edge. Variations in color and veining are inherent characteristics of natural marble.
Genuine Mahogany Pedestal Base
The richly finished pedestal features classic Victorian Revival styling, including a turned urn-form central column, decorative pierced and curved supports, and graceful scrolling legs and feet.
The original Mahogany Association label provides particularly desirable documentation of the use of genuine mahogany in all exposed parts.
