Greco EG-500R from 1973 - a first-year example of the very early era Japanese collectors call the "Gneco" period, which is getting harder to find every year. 4.110 kg.

Made in 1973 and now over fifty years old, yet the shop rates the neck and the electronics as being in perfect condition. The action at the 12th fret is 1.8 mm on the 6th string and 1.5 mm on the 1st, so it plays smoothly with no issues.

The ebony fingerboard is deep black - the sort of material that was used freely when timber was plentiful. A bolt-on maple neck with a sycamore body gives it a slightly unusual look, and the hollow body (different again from a chambered body) has a warm, airy, smoky voice that is very much of this period of Greco.
