This walking stick is made completely from snakewood with a crook handle, furnished with a gold collar stamped with the French punch mark:
Doublé L O
Doublé" gold (or doublé d'or) is a French term for rolled gold, meaning a thick layer of gold alloy is mechanically bonded or rolled onto a base metal core like brass or copper. It is far superior and much thicker than standard modern electroplating, often legally required to contain a specific percentage or weight fraction of gold.
Finished with a bovine horn ferrule.
