Vintage 1970s Fibreglass Skateboard with ACS-500 Trucks & Urethane Wheels
An interesting vintage skateboard, believed to date from the 1970s, comprising a fibreglass deck fitted with genuine ACS-500 trucks and vintage urethane wheels.
The ACS trucks are a particularly desirable period feature and are the principal reason I acquired the skateboard. The deck itself carries no maker's name or other identification that I can find.
Deck
The deck measures approximately 69.5cm long x 14.5cm wide and is of fibreglass construction, with a yellow underside and black non-slip grip surface.
It shows general marks, scuffs and signs of age and use. The grip surface is lifting somewhat towards the rear, as shown in the photographs.
There are also additional mounting holes around the truck positions, indicating that the deck has previously been fitted with a different set or arrangement of trucks. Please study the photographs, which show these clearly.
ACS-500 Trucks
The skateboard is fitted with a pair of vintage ACS-500 trucks. These show age-related marks and oxidation but appear substantially complete.
The suspension bushes are old and have not been dismantled or tested beyond basic visual inspection. Given their age and the length of time the skateboard appears to have been stored, they should be regarded as requiring inspection before any attempt is made to ride the board.
Wheels & Bearings
The vintage urethane wheels have no maker's name that I can see.
The wheels turn, but they do not currently spin freely and stop very quickly. The skateboard appears to have been stored for a considerable period, and the wheel bearings may require cleaning and/or servicing.
The bearings have not been dismantled, cleaned or lubricated, and I have deliberately left the running gear exactly as found rather than attempting to restore or improve it.
Condition & Intended Use
This is being sold as a vintage collectable skateboard / restoration project rather than as a skateboard that is ready for immediate use.
No attempt has been made to ride-test it, and due to the age of the bearings, bushes and other components, these should all be checked and serviced as necessary by the new owner before use.

Country of Origin
The United States entry in eBay's item specifics refers to the ACS-500 trucks. I have not identified the manufacturer or country of manufacture of the fibreglass deck itself.
