Historic RPPC photo postcard. This is one of about 12 cards I'm listing this week. I think every man shown on each of the cards is different, but all are seemingly attached to the Alpini Mountain Infantry. Some men are identified and some have the same family surname. Please take a look at all the others.

The Italian Alpini were elite mountain infantry formed in 1872 to defend Italy's northern borders. During WWI, they fought the Austro-Hungarians in the "White War" (Guerra Bianca)—a brutal, high-altitude conflict across the Dolomites and Alps where avalanches and freezing temperatures were often deadlier than enemy fire.
