This is an exceptional art glass bowl by Michael Nougat (1949–2015). himself, one of the bedrocks of th American Studio Art Glass Movement which brought glassblowing out of large industrial factories and into individual artist-driven studios.  His glass studio is still in operation with his highly skilled son, but this piece is by the master himself.

Its a magnificent piece features the highly coveted "Scarlet Nova" pattern—a dramatic, multi-layered design showcasing vibrant red and deep cobalt blue swirls infused with shimmering gold flecks. The fiery motif transitions beautifully into a warm yellow-to-orange gradient base, all anchored by a perfectly balanced, solid black glass footer.

Fully signed on the black footer - but please take note how perfectly even and round this footer is. It’s not easy to tag on a piece of molten glass and make it perfectly round and even in size. So many amateur pieces are all uneven. This one is perfect.
The crisp, diamond-point engraved studio registry code is "Nourot . MB . III . 99 . MN"
