With increasing interest in emergency preparedness, and recent examples of households being left without mains water for extended periods, a serious water purification system can be a useful part of an emergency kit.
This is a genuine LifeSaver 4000UF Expedition water purification bottle, bought new for emergency use but fortunately never needed, never used and never primed.
The bottle has been carefully stored and comes with its original box, instructions and accessories, as shown in the photographs. The bottle itself was originally supplied inside a sealed foil pack; this was opened to check the contents, but the bottle has never been used or primed.
Before listing it, I contacted LifeSaver directly for advice. They advised that the original main filtration cartridge must now be replaced and specifically asked me to remove it before selling the bottle. It is therefore NOT included in this sale. A new compatible cartridge will need to be fitted before the bottle can be used for water purification.
The original 4000UF cartridge was rated to purify up to 4,000 litres of water. LifeSaver confirmed that their current 6000UF replacement cartridge is the same size and fits this bottle, giving a purification capacity of up to 6,000 litres with the new cartridge fitted.
The original carbon filters have also been stored for a long period. LifeSaver advised that you may want to replace those as well, so I would recommend doing so before use.
This is therefore an opportunity to acquire an unused original LifeSaver bottle with its original box, documentation and accessories, ready to be equipped with the current higher-capacity 6000UF cartridge.
