This beautiful example of a Victorian period burr walnut jewellery box with fully working key and removable jewel tray . The top and front escutcheon are in a beautiful mother of pearl flower and leaf decoration , inside has the original brass hinges and lock plate .
The box is lined in a rich purple suede paper with a padded velvet base and crushed velvet effect in the lid . The tray is perfect for jewellery storage and has 2 slots for holding rings / earrings etc, and 3 padded compartments . There are 2 ribbon tabs to remove the tray easily .
The box shows very little wear or damage and is beautiful piece for its age whilst retaining all its qualities and values. I have been working with antique boxes for over 20 years and individually source restore restyle and repurpose with every care and attention to detail .
The box measures 28 cm wide 13 cm high 20 cm deep .
