A charming antique brass vesta case modelled in the form of a violin, dating to around 1900.
The case captures the outline and detailing of a stringed instrument, with a hinged opening and striker panel to the base. Novelty figural vestas of this type were popular personal accessories during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods and remain appealing collectables today.
Good overall antique condition with light small denting and general surface wear consistent with age and use. The plating shows wear, but no damage or repairs are noted.
The hinged lid opens and closes correctly. The striker is present but has not been tested.
Please examine all photographs carefully as these form an important part of the description and provide the best indication of condition.
