An attractive small Victorian Royal Crown Derby porcelain vase or jar, decorated with stylised iron-red flowers and flowing gilt scrollwork against a rich cobalt-blue ground.

The rounded body is framed by patterned bands incorporating gilt latticework and diamond-shaped panels, with a short circular neck and foot. The underside bears the Royal Crown Derby England factory mark, the diamond date symbol for 1898 and painted pattern number 919.

Antique condition with noticeable rubbing and wear to the gilding, particularly around the rim, neck and decorative scrollwork. Light surface scratches and marks, with discolouration and old label residue to the underside.

No lid is supplied. Whether this particular shape originally had a cover has not been confirmed.
