Imaginary Kingdom is the seventh solo studio album by New Zealand singer-songwriter Tim Finn, released in October 2006 on Capitol/EMI. It was his first solo album in five years, following Feeding the Gods (2001).

The album is a warm, melodic collection of pop/rock, adult alternative and singer-songwriter material, with an atmospheric and sometimes almost dreamy quality. Finn puts a strong emphasis on piano, acoustic instruments, layered vocals and carefully crafted melodies.

The standout “Couldn't Be Done” was the lead single, while “Winter Light” is particularly notable—it originally appeared on The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe soundtrack.

The album was produced by Bobby Huff and recorded in Nashville. It reached No. 18 in New Zealand and No. 48 in Australia.

Overall: One of Tim Finn's stronger later solo albums. It's melodic, atmospheric and understated, with the songwriting taking centre stage rather than heavy production. If you like Split Enz or Crowded House, there's plenty here that will feel familiar without simply sounding like either band.
