I Just Wasn't Made for These Times is Brian Wilson’s second solo album, released in August 1995 on MCA Records. It also serves as the soundtrack to the acclaimed Don Was-directed documentary of the same name about Wilson's life and career.

Rather than being a conventional new studio album, it is largely a re-recording of Beach Boys and Brian Wilson material, with Wilson revisiting songs from different periods of his career. The performances are generally intimate and stripped back compared with the original Beach Boys recordings, giving the songs a reflective, sometimes melancholy quality.

The album has some particularly interesting connections with Wilson's history. “Caroline, No” comes from Pet Sounds, “Do It Again” from 20/20, and “The Warmth of the Sun” and “Let the Wind Blow” come from earlier Beach Boys albums. His daughters Carnie and Wendy Wilson provide backing vocals on “Do It Again.”

The musicians include Waddy Wachtel, Mark Goldenberg, Benmont Tench and Jim Keltner, with Wilson himself on vocals and piano. The album was co-produced by Brian Wilson and Don Was.
