The K40Y-9 are high-quality vintage PIO capacitors designed for military use and manufactured in the former USSR. The conductor is made of aluminum foil, and the dielectric is oil-saturated paper, glass-sealed in a metal body. These capacitors offer excellent sonic characteristics, and their high tolerance is maintained across a wide temperature range.

The K40Y-9 is a version with similar construction and performance to a Vitamin Q, but unlike most Vitamin Qs, the K40Y-9 has smaller dimensions and provides neutral, smooth mids and highs, with an extended yet flat high-frequency response and no loss whatsoever in the bass frequencies.
