Authentic late 19th-century Victorian architectural salvage: a heavy, matching pair of solid cast brass square decorative hardware plates.

Featuring crisp, high-relief Aesthetic Movement design work with an eight-blade geometric pinwheel/rosette centered inside a stippled, recessed ground with polished perimeter borders.

Construction & Form: Heavy solid cast brass with a hollowed, beveled back. Each plate features a single countersunk center hole and a distinct integral angled corner tab/shoulder.

Physical Clues & Function: The reverse shows clear circular friction/rotational wear centered around the mounting hole. The offset corner tab likely served as an indexing stop, stile catch, or mechanical stop—possibly functioning as a double-acting swinging/butler door pivot plate, shutter/transom catch, or specialized decorative architectural millwork corner medallion.

Condition: Excellent, untouched antique condition with rich, natural aged brass patina and authentic verdigris inside the center screw recess. No breaks, cracks, bends, or solder repairs. Both corner tabs are fully intact.

Dimensions: Measures approximately 3" to 3.5" square across the main face plate.
