CALLAWAY SURE OUT 58° WEDGE – KBS 90 STEEL – RIGHT-HANDED
A specialist Callaway Sure Out 58° wedge designed to make bunker shots, deep rough and difficult greenside recoveries easier and more repeatable.
Developed by Callaway in collaboration with renowned short-game coach Hank Haney, the Sure Out combines an extra-wide sole, enhanced camber and full-face grooves. The design helps the head move through sand and turf without requiring the golfer to open the clubface dramatically.
This right-handed example is fitted with the original KBS 90 steel wedge-flex shaft and a Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 Midsize grip.

SURE OUT DESIGN
The Callaway Sure Out was created primarily for golfers who struggle to escape consistently from bunkers or difficult greenside lies.
Its extra-wide sole is designed to resist digging and glide through the sand. The club can therefore be played with a relatively square face and conventional setup, reducing the need for the golfer to manufacture a specialist open-faced bunker technique.
The 58° loft provides sufficient elevation for high greenside shots while remaining more versatile than the strongest 60° and 64° versions.
WIDE SOLE AND ENHANCED CAMBER
The most distinctive feature of the Sure Out is its broad, curved sole.
This sole provides substantial resistance against the head digging too deeply into sand or soft turf. It helps the clubhead continue moving through impact, even when the strike enters the ground slightly earlier than intended.

FULL-FACE GROOVES
The grooves extend across almost the complete width of the face.
This provides additional grooved area on shots struck towards the toe—something that commonly occurs when the clubface is opened or the ball is played from an awkward lie.
The larger face area and high-toe shaping also provide a reassuring appearance behind the ball.
KBS 90 STEEL SHAFT
This wedge is fitted with the original KBS 90 steel shaft in wedge flex.
The 90-gram construction is lighter than many traditional wedge shafts, helping make the club easier to swing while retaining the stability and feedback associated with steel.
The shaft is complemented by a Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 Midsize grip, providing a larger grip profile for golfers who prefer reduced hand action or additional grip size.
INDEPENDENT REVIEW
Golfalot tested the 58° Sure Out and found it particularly effective on shorter greenside shots and bunker escapes.
Its reviewer highlighted the way the wide sole moved through sand and noted that the wedge could be played without opening the face excessively. The review considered it more of a specialist recovery club than a conventional full-swing wedge, which is an important distinction for prospective buyers.
Golfbidder similarly describes the Sure Out sole as being designed to glide through sand and generate easy, high and soft-landing shots without requiring the face to be opened at address.
This is therefore best viewed as a confidence-building short-game and bunker club rather than a traditional narrow-soled lob wedge.
