This is an original 1862 first edition of the first cocktail book ever published. The $2.50 cover price along with the addition of the subtitle The Bon Vivant’s Companion on the title page make it a third state, after the $1.50 and $2.00 cover versions.

The binding is tight, the spine has a few bumps and a little fraying at the bottom. Book has wear and stains throughout as is to be expected with age. There is a small tear in the first page and some faint handwriting on the pre title and title page. Please study the pictures for actual condition. More photos from any angle available on request.
