Antique porcelain mustache cup dating approximately 1890-1910.
Wonderful late Victorian/Edwardian example with an intact interior mustache guard, colorful floral decoration, pink-to-red shaded body, and gilt rim.
The front features the unusual period motto:
"Be careful, don't drink Spirits, dear / Coffee is more wholesome than beer"
A particularly charming temperance-themed design and a much more unusual example than the commonly seen floral-only mustache cups.
Measures approximately 4 inches wide at the cup body and about 3 1/2 inches tall, excluding / including handle as shown in photos. Please refer to photos for exact dimensions.
Bottom bears a fair circular "Made in Germany" mark; manufacturer is not identified.
