This is a lot of two books on the Spanish Navy of the interwar, Spanish Civil War and WW2 period (in Spanish and Polish). They are :
- La guerra naval española (1936-39) [The Spanish naval war (1936-39)], by José Cervera Pery, Editorial San Martin, Madrid, 1988, paperback, 180 pages, numerous black & white photos and other illustrations (ISBN 8471402580) – this Spanish language book is very similar in content and style to the Pan/Ballantine Books of the 1960s-1970s and is from a series entitled ‘Historio del Siglo de Violencia’ (History of the Violent Century), listed on the inside back cover. Many of these seem to be Spanish language reprints of the Pan/Ballantine volumes, albeit published some years later, but this one does not appear to be one of the earlier Pan/Ballantine books, and was presumably commissioned separately. It is in good clean condition, with some shelf wear.
- Hiszpańskie krazowniki ciekie type ‘Canarias’ [Spanish heavy cruisers of the Canarias class], by Tomasz Walczyk, Wydawca, Tarnowskie Góry, 1998, A4 paperback, 32 pages, numerous black & white photos and line drawings/plans (ISBN8390227479) – this short Polish language book describes and illustrates the two Spanish heavy cruisers of the Canaris class, which served from the mid 1930s, on a modified Royal Navy ‘County’ class design. ‘Canaris’ served right through to 1975, but ‘Beleares’ was sunk during the Spanish Civil War. It is heavily illustrated with 1:500 scale plans at the centre pages. It is in good clean condition, with some shelf wear and some bending outwards of the cover pages.
