Made in England, this set of 5 Johnson Brothers Wild Turkeys Brown Native American salad plates is very close to mint: There are no chips, no cracks, no crazing, no staining and no signs of use at all on these beautiful Windsor Ware pieces. Their gloss and shine are like new. 

These lightly scalloped, pristine pieces measure 8 inches in diameter. The wild turkey in the center of the plates is a muted green with dusty pink and brown feathers on an ivory base. Its bottom feathers have hints of blue and purple.

The only imperfections to mention are extremely slight and are either from movement or storage, or they are original to their production, which was likely in the 1950s or 1960s. Flaws include a few faint scratches on three of the plates (see last photo, to the right) and some dings on their undersides that appear to be spur (kiln) marks gone wrong (see 2nd and 3rd to last photos). Other production flaws include two plates with a pen point-sized pock mark on their fronts (again, see last photo in the middle) and some tiny specks of brown or blue transferware ink where they shouldn't be. 

On the plates' undersides are the Johnson Bros Windsor Ware backstamp and their original spur marks.
