JOSEPH CHEANEY VINTAGE DERBY – BLACK - UK 7.5 – RYE
– EXCELLENT CONDITION
A very fine, vintage pair of Joseph Cheaney three-eyelet, plain-front derby
shoes in beautiful black calf leather – never out-of-place. They are in
excellent used condition overall – notwithstanding a little creasing across the
vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos). This pair have been
professionally fitted with brand new ‘Vibram’ rubber soles and are unworn
since.
In my opinion, although modern-day Cheaney shoes
are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials,
they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can
find a pair of vintage Cheaney’s in really nice condition then you are probably
finding some of the nicest shoes around.
But, please remember, these are not new so do not bid on them if you
want a pair of completely unmarked shoes – they will cost considerably more !!
The width fitting is ‘G’ - which
is the ‘wider-than-standard’ width fitting.
The style is ‘Rye’ - a traditional three-eyelet derby – never
out-of-place and easily dressed-up or dressed-down.
The shoes feature leather soles, calf leather uppers and lightweight
leather / linen linings.
Top quality from this traditional English shoemaker.
