Your child is in Reception now, meeting numbers and shapes properly for the first time, and this pack brings that work home. The activities follow the National Curriculum for ages 4-5, so they sit alongside what the class is doing. A confident pre-school child who is ready for more can make a start here too.
There is very little writing, which suits hands still learning to hold a pencil. Your child colours, draws and rings answers instead. On one page they colour the triangles in a camping scene, then ring the right number of rectangles in a city scene. The pictures give you both plenty to talk about.
Four of the books take one strand each, so counting, adding and subtracting, shapes and patterns, and space and measure all get their turn. The CGP book is a 40-page printed workbook of short questions, with answers at the back so you can see how your child is getting on.
