64 Audio U18s - the eighteen-driver universal-fit flagship in-ear monitor. Serial 71221, on a 4.4 mm balanced cable, complete with the apex module set and the outer box.

What the U18s is: 64 Audio build in-ear monitors in Vancouver, Washington for touring musicians, and the U18s sits at the top of the universal-fit range. It uses eighteen balanced-armature drivers per side - eight low, eight mid and a tia (tubeless in-ear audio) high driver plus a tia high-mid - in a four-way crossover. The tia design removes the sound tube in front of the treble driver, which is what gives these their open, un-boxed top end.

Serial: both shells are laser-marked U18s 71221 - see the second photograph, which is a close macro of the L and R markings.

apex modules: 64 Audio's apex (air pressure exchange) vent releases pneumatic pressure in the ear canal, so these can be worn for long sessions without listening fatigue. Three modules are included - m20, m15 and mX - and they are swapped by hand to change the isolation and the bass presentation.

Termination - please read: the supplied 8-braid silver cable terminates in a 4.4 mm balanced (Pentaconn) plug, not a 3.5 mm single-ended one. The third photograph is a close macro of that plug. You will need a source with a 4.4 mm balanced output, or a 4.4 mm to 3.5 mm adapter, to use the cable as supplied. The cable is detachable at the shells, so any standard 2-pin 64 Audio cable can be fitted instead.

Condition, exactly as the selling shop recorded it: grade A, meaning light use and generally good condition. The shop specifically notes scratches on the plug and some plating wear - this is clearly visible on the brass of the 4.4 mm plug in the third photograph, and it is cosmetic. Thirteen photographs are provided, including macros of the shells, the 2-pin sockets and the nozzle meshes; please treat them as the condition report. As with any used in-ear monitor there will be fine marks under 1 cm that are not individually written up. The shop confirms nothing is missing from the accessory set.

Included: the earphones, the 64 Audio premium leather case, the 8-braid silver cable, TrueFidelity eartips (S/M/L), silicone eartips (S/M/L), SpinFit eartips, and the apex m20, m15 and mX modules. The outer box is present and is shown in the last photograph. The manufacturer/distributor warranty card and the printed manual are not included.
