Skottie Young at 1:100, black and white, virgin. That is about as deep into variant chasing as it gets. Shops had to order a hundred copies to earn one, and this printing strips out both the color and the trade dress, so you are looking at Young's uninked line work with his little Spider-Man and Iron Man characters perched on a rooftop trading jokes about the Maker. His covers are already collected by people who do not otherwise buy comics at all, and the black and white printings are the ones that end up framed. If you know a Skottie Young collector, this is the kind of book they will actually be excited to receive.

Ultimate Endgame #1 is the payoff the entire new Ultimate Universe has been building toward since Ultimate Invasion. Two thousand years have passed inside the City while the Maker prepared for his return, and now the barrier is finally down. Every hero in the Ultimate Universe has to mobilize to stop him before it is game over for all of them, and in the middle of that, the rest of the world is fighting World War III. Deniz Camp writes it with art from Terry and Rachel Dodson, and it spins directly out of the Ultimates run. A first issue on the biggest story in the line, which makes this an easy one to hold or to hand to somebody who has been following along.
