2X ACS712 Hall Effect Current Sensor Module (5A / 20A / 30A) for Arduino (2 Pieces)
The ACS712 Hall Effect Current Sensor Module measures both AC and DC current and outputs a simple analog voltage you can read with any Arduino, ESP32, or other 5V microcontroller. Built around the Allegro ACS712 Hall-effect IC, it provides electrical isolation between the current you're measuring and your control electronics, so you get accurate readings without breaking into sensitive low-voltage wiring.
⚠️ Please Select Your Range Before Purchasing: This module is factory-set to one current range -- 5A, 20A, or 30A -- and the sensitivity cannot be changed after manufacturing. Choose the variation that matches your project's current levels.
🔧 How It Works
- Wire the load whose current you want to measure in series through the module's screw terminals
- Connect Vcc, Out, and Gnd to your microcontroller's 5V, analog input, and ground pins
- Current flowing through the module generates a magnetic field, which the internal Hall-effect sensor detects
- The module outputs an analog voltage proportional to that current, centered at 2.5V with no current flowing
⚡ Key Features
- Three Range Options: Available in 5A, 20A, or 30A versions -- select the one that fits your application
- Hall-Effect Sensing: No series resistor required, minimal insertion loss
- Electrical Isolation: 2.1kV RMS isolation between the current path and the signal side
- Analog Voltage Output: Proportional to current, easy to read with any microcontroller
- Measures AC or DC: Works with both types of loads
- Fast Response: 80kHz bandwidth with a 5µs output rise time

📦 What's in the Box
- 2x (2 Pieces) ACS712 Hall Effect Current Sensor Module (range as selected -- 5A, 20A, or 30A)
🔌 Compatible With
- Arduino Uno, Nano, Mega, and other 5V-logic boards
- ESP32 and ESP8266 (via a voltage divider on the analog input)
- Raspberry Pi Pico and other 5V-tolerant microcontrollers
🎯 Typical Applications
- Battery charge/discharge current monitoring
- Motor and pump current sensing
- Solar panel and inverter load monitoring
- Overcurrent detection and protection circuits
- DIY energy monitors and power usage meters
💡 Tip: The output sits at ~2.5V with zero current flowing -- this is normal, not zero volts. In your code, subtract 2.5V from the reading, then divide by the sensitivity of your variant (185mV/A, 100mV/A, or 66mV/A) to calculate current.
⚠️ Important Notes
- Not intended for automotive applications
- Do not exceed the rated current range for your selected variant -- sustained overcurrent can permanently damage the sensor
- Never connect the screw terminals directly to mains AC voltage without proper safety precautions and enclosures
- Keep the module away from strong magnetic fields or nearby ferrous metal, which can affect accuracy
