Antique bentwood dry grain measure, likely dating to the late 19th century. Constructed with an overlapping bentwood body, reinforced upper rim, and approximately 1" wide iron straps extending down the sides and crossing beneath the bottom. Interior retains aged metal fasteners with attractive natural patina.

Measures approximately 12.25" in diameter x 6.5" high and weighs approximately 3 lb 4 oz. Based on its dimensions, this appears consistent with an approximately 8-quart / one-peck dry measure, although no capacity or maker's mark was found, so exact capacity and manufacturer are not guaranteed.

Wonderful primitive surface and character throughout. The wood shows substantial age-related wear, cracks, splits, edge losses and old damage. Iron straps show oxidation/rust, and some fasteners/rivets are missing. Bottom has cracking and wear as shown. Remains intact overall.

Uncleaned and unrestored. No maker's mark was found.
