1794 Hawkhurst, Kent copper halfpenny trade token, issued by Charles Hider and believed to be Dalton & Hamer Kent 30 (D&H 30).

One side features the Kentish horse within a shield, with the divided date 17 94 above and the legend:

JUSTICE & CONFIDENCE THE BASIS OF TRADE

The other side features an ornate CH monogram for Charles Hider, surmounted by a wheatsheaf, with the legend:

HAWKEURST HALFPENNY PAYABLE AT

The edge is particularly interesting, with CHARLES HIDER’S visible together with diagonal milling. This corresponds with documented D&H 30 examples, including examples described as having milling over the edge lettering.
