1764 - antique zoology engraving (Buffon)
engraving intaglio from the year 1764, published for the famous Natural History of Buffon (Georges-Louis Leclerc de Buffon), quadrupeds section. The designer was Deseve. The engraver was by Fehrt. It represents a view of the stomach of the "corine", a type of gazelle.
Beautiful appearance and good format (Quarto). Probably one of the first editions of this engraving since the edition of the 12 volumes on quadrupeds spread between 1753 and 1767. Decorative and curious, this totally authentic engraving from 1764 will delight a large number of collectors, particularly on the subjects of zoology, mammals or biology in general. She was therefore part of one of the most important scientific publishing companies of the Age of Enlightenment.
