Unlike lightweight plastic roof vents, this skylight is fabricated from strong 3mm aluminium for excellent strength and durability.
The large mounting flange provides a substantial surface for bonding, sealing and mechanical fixing to your roof.

The skylight can be opened slightly for ventilation or opened to more than 110° when maximum access and airflow are required.
A quality 254mm Satin Anodised Aluminium Casement Stay allows the opening position to be controlled and provides strong support for the hatch.
Whether you want a small opening for fresh air or a large opening for ventilation and access, this design gives you plenty of flexibility.
Security was an important part of this design.
When properly closed and locked from inside, the locking mechanism prevents the hatch from simply being opened from the outside.
This makes it particularly suitable for campervans, motorhomes, boats, workshops and other applications where security is important.
The glazing is manufactured from 5mm polycarbonate, rather than ordinary glass.
Polycarbonate provides excellent impact resistance and is much less likely to shatter if struck by a branch or other object.

The top glazing panel incorporates approximately a 5° slope.
This helps rainwater naturally run towards the lower edge rather than allowing water to sit and pool in the centre of the skylight.
The completed skylight is also water-leak tested before dispatch.
The skylight can be supplied in its standard aluminium finish or professionally powder coated.

Because each skylight can be manufactured to your required dimensions, it is particularly useful where a standard off-the-shelf roof hatch simply won't fit.
The skylight has a large external mounting flange to make installation straightforward.
Position the skylight over your prepared roof aperture, mark and drill suitable fixing holes through the mounting flange, then mechanically secure it using appropriate fixings for your particular roof construction.
A high-quality automotive or marine-grade bonding/sealing product should also be applied continuously beneath the mounting flange.
We recommend using a suitable Master Bonding Kit or equivalent high-quality polyurethane/automotive bonding sealant to create a strong, watertight installation.

As these skylights are individually fabricated, many custom sizes can be completed within a few working days, depending on our current workload and whether powder coating or special-colour polycarbonate is required.
