Unused pair of vintage French metis linen double bed sheets

They are 220 x 310 cm (86.6" x 122") and weigh 3.1kg (6.9 lb)

They are in very good, unused condition in the original bales

They are in plastic packaging with the original maker's labels

The labels include the Fleur Bleue 'guarantee of excellence'

The top sheet has a deep hem with classic French ladderwork

The plastic packaging was not sealed and had a few tears

The sheets have some tiny oxidation spots (storage stains) 

These are commonly found in old linens and will wash out 

Metis is a traditional French thick, heavy, hard-wearing fabric

It's excellent for upholstery projects as well as for bedding 

It's an unbleached, creamy-colour (ecru) linen-cotton mix

The warp is pure cotton and the weft is pure linen

It will get whiter and softer with progressive laundering

It will need soaking and washing to remove the starch

(soak in a tub for 24-48 hours then launder as normal)
